Irish songstress Sinead O’Connor has taken to Facebook to complain that the cover of the latest U.S.-based Rolling Stone magazine featured reality TV star Kim Kardashian, exclaiming that “music is officially dead.”
“What is this c*** doing on the cover of Rolling Stone? Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it?” O’Connor posted on her official Facebook page.
“Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be f****** horrified,” she added.
The 48 year-old songwriter’s fans took to Twitter to support her view.
In 2013, the U.S. pop culture magazine courted controversy when it featured Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on its front cover.
Twitter and Facebook users complained that the cover was “disgraceful” and “disgusting,” while some said it depicts him as a “rock star.”
